'Dust off your smoking jacket and high heels' -- no matter how many times you've heard it, the words are still seductive enough to lure you down to the Warehouse District in anticipation of what could only be called a happening -- a moment -- the latest evolution of the Twin Cities' icon of music and visual design. From its beginning in 1995, The Lounge has been an artistic showcase for underground electronic music scene, launching musical nights and artists that became as well known as the club that made them classics. The Lounge has long held the standard of pairing unique visual concepts and sound each week -- giving the music and its mixologists identities that blended with a lush backdrop of exotic animal skins, plush velvet pillows, oils on canvas and ethereal film images floating on ribbons of smoke in the air. The Lounge captures an international blend of music and people who groove to a special beat, all in search of a place of their own in a global sound diaspora. There's something about this glamorous chameleon, this oasis that never seems to run out. The Lounge is, and will always be the center of an international lexicon of cool.
