ERIC MORILLO - PACHA NYC
F*ck Me,
What can be said about this night and this club. Being the first time i had been out and about in New York i was very anxious of what to expect. I made the short walk from Times Square and located Pacha down 46th Street. First impressions were good. The doorstaff that although were man mountains were extremely friendly and helpful when i was trying to find stuff out. On wars i wen and paid up my $40 entry fee expecting to club until about 4.

As i rocked up inside i was hit by a gathering of people and it was 12 so i looked at the DJ booth, and ther he was, the legend himslf, Eric Morillo starting his set. He kicked off with "Dimonds are Forever" and followed it up with Basstoy "Running". The educated crowd went wild like myself. The drinks are a bit pricey but its hat you come to expect with these sort of clubs, your there for the music and not to get hammered. Its not what pacha i about.

After an hoiur of solid feet stomping i decided to explore this club, after all it has 3 levels. The 1st floor or Mezinaine level is for VVVVVVVIP and not even the Laird of Glen Cairn could blag his way onto this level, and so i proceeded on the the top floor. First thing i saw was that there is 2 enclosed showers with extremely attractive dancers in them wearing not much and washing themselves. The camera came out just so i could rememeber this in the morning. It was on this levl i looked around the club from the balcony and it was then i realised what sort of club i was in. In the DJ booth there was 4 turntables and 4 CD Decks..........with morrillo using ALL of them. It was amazing. On a rough count theres over 30 speakers within the club, 4 of them are bigger than a mini!!!!!!!!!! oh and the lighting rig is on hydrolics and moves up and down throughout the night with the arms moving as well. I was amazed.

Ther wasn't one bad tune throughout the whole night and with Eric morillo doing what wa near to a 12 hour set, this is a club that any one that has any interest in house music should plan their next holiday. (over 21 entry)

Only Morillo and Pacha could have pulled off a night like this. Roll on the 30th and 31st when its Steve Lawler and CArl Cox gracing, what could be said as one of the best clubs i've ever seen.
