This is a daytime event (e.g. starts late morning or early afternoon - see below for times).

WHEN: September 1st to the 4th (All of labor day weekend) People start to show up Friday afternoon/evening with the majority rolling in on Saturday. The party ends on Monday whenever you can roll out of your tent from a weekend of craziness and recover enough to man a vehicle homebound.

WHERE: 6889 N. Geneva Rd. Sodus, NY 14551. It’s a beautiful 20 acre farm a few of my coworkers bought about 40 min east of Rochester. Its also about 2 miles south of Lake Ontario. The farm has some large fields, small apple orchard, a large wooded area with trails running through it and a 15 foot wide river. Plenty of room for us to cause a ruckus into the late night with no neighbors to complain. And since I know lots of people will ask it takes about 5 1/2 hours to get here from Boston but worth every minute.

ACCOMMODATIONS: Well, it’s a camping weekend, so make sure to bring everything you need to sleep. I.e. tent, sleeping bag, camping mat and teddy bear (for those of you who need something to hug when strange noises are heard during the night).

COST: Although the exact amount could change slightly we are currently expecting a price of $75 per person for the weekend.

What does $75 get me?: Well the goal of this party is for people who come to have to worry about as little as possible. For that reason we charge people per head and try to supply everything they will need. There will be at least 1 keg tapped all weekend.. and usually 2 at a time for party mode. We stock a bar a few times during the weekend to feed the need for shots and liquor drinks. Food will be provided and isn’t 100% nailed down yet. Last year's food highlights were an enormous smoked pig, smoked salmon and fresh boiled lobsters from Cape Cod. And don’t worry if you’re a vegetarian, there's plenty of hippy people and need for beef alternatives. There is also bands that will be playing who we don’t charge to come for the weekend... so part of your money goes to them indirectly. We are also planning on including an official Labor Day Extravaganza tee-shirt for the weekend included in your $75 dollars.

Bands Huh?: Yep back in the field we are setting up a stage/party area. Both Saturday night and usually all day Sunday there is a large party in the field with live music and dancing. Typically music is a conglomeration of friends and bands we know who are willing to play for a free entrance to the weekend. (Great music of course)

How big is this Party?: Well last year we had about 75 people there for the whole weekend and a handful more who just came for one of the days. Every year it gets bigger and bigger so we expect to have around 100 people this year but really the more the merrier.

Badminton: Its become a tradition that we have a badminton tournament every year with a cash price donated by the company. so be prepared to have a partner.

Other: There is other stuff to do. The lake is really close by so for a 5 min drive you can sit on the beach. Usually there is some Frisbee golf happening so if that’s your thing make sure to bring your discs. There are some cheep golf courses in the area if you like although I don’t think people have done that in the past. Other than that for the most part people just hang out and enjoy some time with friends in a beautiful setting.

Well, that's the major stuff I wanted to get out. I will most likely follow-up with another e-mail with more specifics as they are available. You don’t really need to sign-up to attend, but we are trying to get a general head count ahead of time so we can plan to have enough food, booze, t-shirts...etc. for people.

Once again I encourage you to forward this to people who may be interested in coming. I tried to pull every address I had but there are lots of people I don’t have to ability to contact. If you do forward it to someone please also send me their address or cc me on the forward so I can add them to the list for further details.

Looking forward to seeing people as you will not regret the good times had by all.
