I was wondering if anybody here had any suggestions on what exactly to invest in. I already posted on AzEDM and got some advice but I was wondering if anybody here had some more to offer. So far I have a vague idea of what I want. I also want to keep it relatively inexpensive since I'm just looking for some to learn on at this point.

ive got a pair of direct drive str8-80 stantons that i learned on that are now sitting unused. two main differences from them to the mkII 1210's i have now:
1. less torque, takes about .5 second to go full speed
2. pitch is a little touchy

other than that, i loved them. they were perfect to learn on. the straight tone arm is nice for beginners too, you have no idea how many times ive dropped my technic tone arm and had it slide across a whole record... uhg...

do a little research on em and you'll see that they are actually very reliable and feature laden.

I'm getting mine within a month or two as well. Same decks as Cburr for sure, but not the mixer. gonna have to find something a little more fun.
