today was the 233rd birthday of the army and it got me thinking about a lot of stuff...
mostly on the views of people back home... i mean over here in iraq all we really hear about is biased shit...
so here is a question for everyone... what are your views on the war in iraq and afghanistan... please dont hold back say what you think...

haha I think things here are biased too....people just putting blind faith in the president...

personally, I think all war is wrong because I think killing another person regardless of the "reason" is wrong. Most wars are just endless fights perpetuating retribution. It's the classic "he hit me so I hit him" scenario, only we're not in 1st grade any more. It's escalated to a point of real violence and bloodshed, which is why I think it needs to be stopped. Regardless of who we think is right and wrong, the truth is that thousands of people on both sides are getting wounded and dying. And for what? Not a whole lot of people know they answer, and if they do, it's mostly just the lies that Bush has fed to them.

That being said, I 100% honor all soldiers, including American. It's unbelievably brave to be willing to give your life for your country. That is why I firmly stand that the only true way we can "support our troops" is to bring them home. Your country needs you - your families need you. They need you at home and alive. They say it's the hardest thing in the world for a parent to have to bury their child, and yet we ship tons of you guys off all the time. Maybe you'll come back alive - but that's not in any way guaranteed.

That's why Obama's the best candidate for presidency right now. McCain talks a lot of bull about how he feels the pain of war, but if elected president, he would send more troops over there. Obama has a plan to bring you guys home, regardless of how inexperienced others may perceive him to be. I'd rather have a plan to bring the troops home than a plan to continue the violence and hardships.

And that's my two cents. Although I really don't like sparking controversy. I hope this doesn't turn into a debate - just trying to help you out.

Umm were not technically in a "war" they never declared war...last one we declared was WWII

But I want my friends back...They are all leaving me and I fear for their lives because America is power and money hungry

& i don't doubt at all that he'll reinstate the draft when he wants to send more troops.
AND isn't it funny how 2012 corresponds with the end of mccains term (if he wins)?!
