In late 2010, The Nest opened in an intimate, 350 capacity basement in Dalston. With the aim to create a new clubbing space focused on progressive electronic music, with forward thinking line-ups, quality sound and a captivating atmosphere, the creative minds behind the venue set to work on achieving just that.

Installing a huge Martin Audio soundsystem and minimal lighting designed to take control of the neo-industrial style and intimate dancefloor, The Nest is home to some of the most prolific club nights in London. From Chase and Status’ raucous, bass heavy MTA Records parties, to Scandalism’s monthly residency and the new Saturday night Lemonade, which showcases the best in live and DJ led electro/indie/disco, the quality programming never disappoints. Promising cheap entry prices for in-house events put together by The Nest’s creative team as well as the monthly residencies, The Nest provides forward-thinking, exciting events accessible to everyone.

What's on at The Nest

  1. LE YOUTH + BENNY & GAIN image

    Fri 25 July at 09:00pm until Sat 26 July 2014 at 04:00am

Seeing Le Youth at The Nest in the middle of the British summertime is a match made in Dalston heaven. He conjures sounds soaked in sunshine, combining nineties vibes with a distinct modern aesthetic. Le Youth has had a string of huge releases since his breakthrough last year, with the TLC sampling “Dance With Me” reaching 11 in the UK charts back in February of this year. You can’t help but move to its Californian swagger and European flair. The house music that lit up dancefloors and dominated the airwaves around the globe during the 80s and 90s all had leisurely grooves, airy synthesizers and poppy hooks; just like Le Youth’s breakthrough single, “C O O L”. Catching Le Youth in such a compact club setting like that of The Nest is a real coup, as the young Californian smashes his way across huge venues all summer long. Joining him will be a couple of special guests, so stay tuned for more.

Fur Coat + No Artificial Colours

    Fri 01 August at 09:00pm until Sat 02 August 2014 at 04:00am

Fur Coat promises to bring deep beats, rolling grooves, fetching breakdowns and a whole lot of funk. One can hear the passion of salsa and soul; blended with all things electronic, reverberating through the minds of music heads everywhere. Having released on labels such as Noir, Get Physical and My Favourite Robot, Fur Coat has had some huge appearances at festivals such as We Are Festival, Sonar and Wavefront. Coupled with their stellar support, they make for a special billing at The Nest. That support comes in the shape of No Artificial Colours, yet another superduo who had diverse backgrounds whilst in their DJ training ground in South East London – Lewis Wright cutting his teeth playing hiphop in clubs around Deptford, and Ryan Ellis playing more garage-informed sets. Their debut cut ‘Detroit Baby, What’ soon followed – and was picked up by Jamie Jones and Maya Jane Coles even before they handed it to a record label. The phrase “hot property” gets banded around a lot these days, but, you’ll have to forgive us this one time.

    Fri 08 August at 09:00pm until Sat 09 August 2014 at 04:00am

We can’t keep the Plump DJs away for any longer. They had yet another massive show with us at the start of May, putting on an immense performance with Drums of Death, and this one looks set to follow suite. Honestly, not much more needs to be said about these guys, they’ve been relentlessly smashing dancefloors since the nineties and everybody knows it. Joining them will be Hostage, the Scottish champion of jackin' house. With releases on Black Butter, Simma Black and Deep Thrills he has become a unique and hugely entertaining feature on the British house landscape.

The double celebration will be soundtracked by Justin Martin, Mak & Pasteman and the Tessellate DJs, and all things considered, should make it an easy decision for where to spend your weekend partying. Loved worldwide for his long-standing affiliation with seminal house label Dirtybird, Justin Martin’s profile has reached a wider audience in recent years following his album Ghettos & Gardens and his appearance here will surely be the highlight of the bank holiday across the capital. Tickets to our previous daytime events sold out in weeks – get your tickets to this one ASAP to avoid disappointment.
