In late 2010, The Nest opened in an intimate, 350 capacity basement in Dalston. With the aim to create a new clubbing space focused on progressive electronic music, with forward thinking line-ups, quality sound and a captivating atmosphere, the creative minds behind the venue set to work on achieving just that.

Installing a huge Martin Audio soundsystem and minimal lighting designed to take control of the neo-industrial style and intimate dancefloor, The Nest is home to some of the most prolific club nights in London. From Chase and Status’ raucous, bass heavy MTA Records parties, to Scandalism’s monthly residency and the new Saturday night Lemonade, which showcases the best in live and DJ led electro/indie/disco, the quality programming never disappoints. Promising cheap entry prices for in-house events put together by The Nest’s creative team as well as the monthly residencies, The Nest provides forward-thinking, exciting events accessible to everyone.

As a part of revolutionary indietronica outfit Hot Chip, Joe Goddard has been partly responsible for DFA’s reinvigoration of British dance music in the mid noughties. Feeding off the huge success of his band, Goddard has gone on to have a notable solo career as a house producer, being responsible for hits like ‘Gabriel’ and his remix of Nneka’s ‘Shining Star’, and then as one half of the 2 Bears with Raf Rundell. Having recently finished their 12 week residency at XOYO, Goddard’s potency behind the decks is no hidden secret, and here is a great chance to catch him in the more intimate surroundings of The Nest.

The XL signees are no strangers to dance music, with both of their records to date having a concerted emphasis on groove and funk. They have also contributed to the Late Night Tales series, have had their songs remixed by the likes of Tensnake and Aeroplane, and have a resident house producer in the form of Deep Shit’s Jack Savidge. All things considered, the band are a perfect fit for The Nest, and their DJ set will no doubt exemplify why they continue to be one of the UK’s leading indie/dance crossover acts.

The Horse Meat Disco bring their legendary good times soundtrack to The Nest, as part of a very special launch party to celebrate the release of The Juan Maclean's forthcoming album, entitled In A Dream. Approaching their 10th year running, Horse Meat Disco saw big things in 2013. Hosting packed out disco parties across the globe, and annual shows at some of Europe’s biggest festivals, including Glastonbury, Bestival and Vivid. Inspired by the 70s & 80s dance scene in New York, they are renowned for throwing unique parties - the DJ quartet each bring a personal sound to their shows. As found in their huge Boiler Room x Red Stripe mix, expect to hear only the best deep disco, italo, punk funk, house, even techno, electric bangers and just plain old rare oddities. Joining them in this huge billing will be Juan Maclean of DFA Records fame, whose name is frequently associated with disco queen Nancy Whang of LCD Soundsystem. Starting out as guitarist for post-hardcore band Six Finger Satellite, he took a break from the music scene before returning to work with James Murphy and Tim Goldsworthy, and touring with Australian band Cut Copy and label-mates Shocking Pinks.
